Rome, Aug. 11 (LaPresse) – Alexander Zverev has advanced to the third round of the ‘Cincinnati Open,’ the ATP Masters 1000 event held on the hard courts of Ohio, USA. The German player, world No. 3, defeated American Nishesh Basavareddy, ranked 109 ATP, with a score of 6-3, 6-3. Zverev will now face Brandon Nakashima, who beat Belgian Alexander Blockx 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5). Also moving into the third round is Ben Shelton, fresh off his victory in the Toronto tournament. The American, ranked sixth in the ATP standings, defeated Argentine Camilo Ugo Carabelli, who was forced to retire with the score at 6-3, 3-1 in favor of the young American, who will now face Spain’s Roberto Bautista-Agut in the round of 16.
