Turin, Aug 11 (LaPresse) – The match between Villarreal and Barcelona will be played in Miami on December 20. The Spanish Football Federation (Rfef), chaired by Rafael Louzán, has approved the proposal.
“At the meeting held on August 11, 2025, the Rfef Board of Directors received the request from Villarreal CF and FC Barcelona to play the Matchday 17 fixture of the First Division in the United States,” reads a statement from the Rfef.
After reviewing the documents and receiving board approval, the Rfef will submit a request to UEFA to begin the authorization process with FIFA. The match is scheduled to take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on December 20, 2025, in compliance with FIFA international match regulations and the Rfef's implementation guidelines.
