Paris (France), Aug. 12. (LaPresse/AP) – It's now official: Gigio Donnarumma is not in Paris Saint Germain's squad for tomorrow's UEFA Super Cup final against Tottenham in Udine. The list released today by PSG includes new signing Lucas Chevalier, who arrived from Lille for just over €40 million, and second-choice Matvei Safonov. Luis Enrique's decision marks a break with the Italian goalkeeper, whose future with the European champions had already been called into question by the signing of Chevalier. The Parisian club has taken a hard line after Donnarumma refused to sign a contract renewal one year before the expiry of his current deal. The risk of losing the player on a free transfer next year means PSG must put Donnarumma on the market immediately to avoid a repeat of last year's situation with Kylian Mbappé, who moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer. It will be a significant loss for the Parisians: the Italian goalkeeper was one of the stars of last season's Champions League, playing a decisive role in PSG's victory.
