Rome, August 14 (LaPresse) – Jannik Sinner advances to the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Masters 1000. The South Tyrolean defeated Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, world number 89, in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (4).
The match was suspended during the second set due to rain and resumed after a 2-hour and 45-minute break, at the score of 6-4, 1-2, 40-30 in favor of the world number one.
This is his 16th Masters 1000 quarterfinal, achieved at the end of another imperfect match (notable issues with his first serve).
But the South Tyrolean, even on off days, manages to win tough battles.
In the quarterfinals, he will face the winner of the match between Auger-Aliassime and Frenchman Bonzi.
