Turin, 15 August (LaPresse) – Empoli advanced to the second round of the Coppa Italia after defeating Reggiana on penalties following a 1-1 draw in regular time, with Gondo scoring in the 13th minute of the first half and Ilie, who had previously missed a penalty, scoring in the 20th minute of the second half. From the penalty spot, the Emilian side missed all three penalties, with Gondo, Marras and Rover all failing to convert. The Tuscan side will now face the winner of Genoa-Vicenza in the round of 32.
