Rome, August 18. (LaPresse) – The Masters 1000 title in Cincinnati slips away for Lorenzo Musetti and Lorenzo Sonego. The Italian duo was defeated in the doubles final by the Croatian Nikola Mektic and American Rajeev Ram, with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 10-5. Despite the loss, Sonego and Musetti can take pride in their performance in Cincinnati, having reached the quarterfinals two years ago, defeated 2023 champions Gonzalez/Molteni in the first round, and saved a match point to beat the No. 5 seeds Salisbury/Skupski in the semifinals. Musetti, the first player to reach a Masters 1000 final in both singles and doubles in 2025, still awaits his first doubles title on the ATP tour. Sonego has two titles, in Cagliari 2021 (with Vavassori) and Kitzbuhel 2022 (with Martinez).
