Rome, Aug 19 (LaPresse) – Napoli announces the permanent signing of defender Miguel Gutiérrez Ortega from Girona. Born on July 27, 2001, the Spanish player came through Real Madrid’s youth academy, winning the 2020 UEFA Youth League and scoring a decisive goal in the final against Benfica. In April 2021, he made his first-team debut in Real Madrid’s away win over Cadiz. In the summer of 2022, he joined Girona, where he recorded six goals and eighteen assists in 113 appearances. With Spain’s national team, he won Olympic gold in Paris 2024, scoring in the match against the Dominican Republic. Before the club’s official announcement on its website, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis posted on X: “Welcome Miguel.”
