Rome, August 21 (LaPresse) – Everything is set for the fourth and final Grand Slam of the season. The main draw of the US Open was unveiled today at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York (total prize money: $31,620,000).
On the women's side, three Italian players will compete: Jasmine Paolini (world No. 8 and seeded 7th), Lucia Bronzetti (No. 56), and Elisabetta Cocciaretto (No. 87).
Here are the Italians' first-round matchups:
Paolini (7, ITA) vs Qualifier

Cocciaretto (ITA) vs Yulia Putintseva (KAZ)
Jasmine Paolini will be playing her 24th main draw at a Slam, and her sixth at the US Open, where she holds a 4–5 record. Her best result came last year, when she reached the round of 16.
Lucia Bronzetti enters her 16th major main draw, and fourth appearance in New York, where her record stands at 3–3. Her best showing was a third-round finish in 2023.
For Elisabetta Cocciaretto, this will also be her 16th Grand Slam appearance. In three previous outings at Flushing Meadows, the 24-year-old has tallied one win and three losses. Her best result — reaching the second round — came last year.
