Rome, Aug. 26 (LaPresse) – Italy’s women’s volleyball team just keeps winning. At the World Championship currently underway in Thailand, Julio Velasco’s squad defeated Belgium 3 sets to 1. The Azzurre took the first two sets 25-16, dropped the third 21-25, but closed it out with a 25-18 win in the fourth.
Italy advances to the Round of 16 as group leaders, regardless of Cuba’s result. In the next round, they will face the winner of the playoff between Germany and Poland, scheduled for August 30 in Bangkok.
