Turin, 7 September (LaPresse) – Mads Pedersen won the 15th stage of the Vuelta a España, the medium mountain stage from A Veiga/Vegadeo to Monforte de Lemos. The Lidl-Trek rider, who wears the green jersey in the points classification, won in a nine-man sprint, having managed to gain an advantage in the day's maxi-breakaway, which the peloton let go, arriving at the finish line more than thirteen minutes behind the winner. The Dane finished ahead of Aular (Movistar Team) and Italian Marco Frigo (Israel-Premier Tech). Junior Lecerf (Soudal Quick-Step), who was part of today's breakaway, is back in the top ten of the general classification, jumping to ninth place, 5'49‘ behind Jonas Vingegaard (Visma Lease a Bike), who remains in the red jersey with a 48’ advantage over Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates) and 2'38" over Tom Pidcock (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team). The Vuelta will observe its second and final rest day tomorrow. The race will resume on Tuesday with the medium mountain stage from Poio to Mos. Castro de Herville.
