Turin, Sept. 13 (LaPresse) – Second medal of the day for Italy at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. After Antonella Palmisano's silver in race walking, Nadia Battocletti also took silver in the 10,000 meters, finishing behind only the Kenyan Beatrice Chebet (30:37.61), the reigning Olympic champion at this distance. The Italian, who was also second a year ago at the Paris 2024 Games, ran in 30:38.23, setting a new national record. Bronze went to Ethiopian Gudaf Tsegay in 30:39.65.
