Fort Lauderdale (Florida, United States), 17 September (LaPresse/AP) – Lionel Messi scored a goal and provided an assist in Inter Miami's 3-1 win over Seattle, just over two weeks after losing to the same Sounders in the League Cup final. Miami took the lead in the 12th minute with Jordi Alba, assisted by Messi. In the 41st minute, it was Alba who provided the assist for Messi, who doubled the lead. ‘I always look for him (Messi), he always looks for me. We have created many goals and we hope it will be like this until the end of our careers,’ said Alba. The third goal came in the early minutes of the second half when Ian Fray scored with a header from a corner kick by Rodrigo De Paul. Seattle's consolation goal was scored by Obed Vargas in the 69th minute. Inter Miami is still without Luis Suarez, who is suspended for three games for spitting at a Sounders staff member after the League Cup final.
