Rome, Sept. 18 (LaPresse) – Italy is back in the top 10 of world football. In the new FIFA ranking, the Azzurri rise to 1,710.06 points after two victories over Estonia and Israel under new head coach Gennaro Gattuso, overtaking Germany, which drops out of the world’s top ten to 12th place. For the first time since 2014, Spain—reigning European champion—returns to the top of the ranking with 1,875.37 points, ahead of France. Argentina, the reigning world champion, slips to third place, and remains one of only two non-European teams in the top ten. The other is Brazil, coached by Carlo Ancelotti, currently sixth after losing one spot to Portugal.
