Milan, Sept. 18 (LaPresse) – “Ahead of the Olympic Games, we started working closely with the Organizing Committee and security personnel months ago. So I’d like to say that we are working to ensure the safety of everyone, both on and off the field,” said IOC President Kirsty Coventry in an interview with LaPresse, on the sidelines of the IOC Executive Board meeting in Milan, regarding potential protests against Israel during the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. “This process started many months ago and will continue. Can we predict something will happen? Can we plan for something to happen? Yes, and that’s exactly what we are doing,” she added.
