Turin, Sept. 19 (LaPresse) – Another medal for Italy at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, the sixth in this edition. Andrea Dallavalle won silver in the triple jump, beaten only by Portuguese star Pedro Pichardo, who claimed gold with 17.91 on his final attempt. The Italian, who had been in fourth place for much of the competition, moved into the medals with his last jump of 17.64. Bronze went to Cuba’s Lazaro Martinez (17.49). Fellow Italian finalist Andy Diaz finished off the podium with 17.19.
