Rome, Sept. 20 (LaPresse) – At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, little luck for the Italian women's 4×100 relay team as Vittoria Fontana suffered an injury in the first leg, forced to almost stop on the curve due to a problem with her left thigh. However, Gloria Hooper still managed to take the baton, which was then passed to Dalia Kaddari and Alessia Pavese. The team finished sixth with a time of 49.41 seconds in the heat won by Jamaica (41.80). The Italian team is out of the final.
