Rome, Oct. 2 (LaPresse) – "I’m not the only one who is changing. If you ask every player, they’re all trying to change something and improve. We’re not trying to make drastic changes, we’re trying to improve as players," said Jannik Sinner upon arriving in Shanghai ahead of his debut against Daniel Altmaier in the penultimate Masters 1000 of the season. Sinner will face the German who defeated him in the second round of the 2023 Roland Garros, a loss that marked a turning point in his career. He comes here after winning the title in Beijing, his first tournament after losing the US Open final, a setback that convinced him of the need to change something in his game to make it less predictable.
"Some shots have worked slightly better than in previous months, others we can still improve. But that’s normal, and I simply try to play as many matches as possible in every tournament. This also gives me the opportunity to try as many things as possible," said the Italian tennis player.
