Milan, Oct. 18 (LaPresse) – "It’s a very difficult situation, it caused us enormous sorrow. We will also ski for him, and we will do the same for Matilde Lorenzi. He will be an additional presence at the Olympics, especially for his teammates." This is what the Italian champion Sofia Goggia said on the sidelines of the FISI Media Day, referring to the tragic passing of the Italian skier Matteo Franzoso on the slopes.
"I’m fine, I worked well this summer. Last year I had a solid season, I started from a good physical base and the training in South America also went well," added the skier from Bergamo.
"Skiing is an outdoor sport and has many variables, you can’t plan it like other disciplines. You shouldn’t think about the season with a different mindset from others, you have to start well in the World Cup but the secret is to ski strong every weekend. My goal is to be at 100% every day, without big expectations, step by step," Goggia concluded.
