WTA Finals: Paolini eliminated, defeated in two sets by Gauff

Rome, 4 November (LaPresse) – Jasmine Paolini has been mathematically eliminated from the WTA Finals currently being played in Riyadh. The Italian, who lost to Aryna Sabalenka in her opening match in the Graff group, was defeated in two sets by American Coco Gauff with a score of 6-3, 6-2. Paolini will play her last round-robin match on Thursday against Jessica Pegula, but it will have no bearing on her qualification for the semi-finals. Tomorrow, the Tuscan athlete will try again in doubles with Sara Errani. The Italians will take to the court at 1 p.m. in what is a real qualifying play-off against the Mertens-Kudermetova pair.
