ATP Finals: Alcaraz wins his opening match, De Minaur defeated in two sets

Turin, 9 November (LaPresse) – Carlos Alcaraz made a winning debut, beating Alex De Minaur in two sets in the first singles match of the ATP Finals, which kicked off today in Turin, valid for the Jimmy Connors Group. The Spanish tennis player won 7-6 (5), 6-2 in one hour and 40 minutes of play. The Murcia native struggled more than expected in the first set, winning after finding himself down 5-4 in the tie-break on the Australian's serve, before dominating in the second set. In the evening, no earlier than 8:30 p.m., the second singles match of the day is scheduled in the “Bjorn Borg” group between Alexander Zverev and Ben Shelton.
