Rome, 27 November (LaPresse) – Italian skier Federica Brignone has concluded her two days on the snow in Cervinia, marking her return to skiing. The champion from Valle d'Aosta gives a preliminary assessment of this further step towards complete recovery. ‘It was a perfect day for skiing, with winter conditions and close to home,’ says Federica. "I am very happy to be back on skis. There are many positive things, but there is still a lot to do. Let's say it's a first taste, not a point of arrival but a starting point. At first I was a bit stiff, but lap after lap I found a good feeling. It felt like I had never stopped skiing. I felt my leg reacting, and the contact with the snow and the gliding was a great feeling. It's great to be back on my skis at this point, after almost eight months, even though we know we still have to improve further. In a few days, we'll be back on the slopes to explore. Skiing is completely different from working out in the gym, especially when you consider the angles, twists and pressure we need to ski at a high level. We'll try to keep pace with our athletic training."
