Skiing season over for Lara Gut-Behrami: ‘Injury is not a tragedy’

Rome, 27 Nov. (LaPresse) – Swiss champion Lara Gut-Behrami's 2025/26 ski season has ended prematurely. The Swiss Ski Federation has announced that the 34-year-old has suffered serious injuries to her left knee in a training accident in the United States, as feared. The diagnosis confirmed a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament and meniscus. The Olympic Super-G champion will therefore also miss the upcoming Winter Games in Italy. However, Gut-Behrami, who had actually planned to end her career after this season, is now leaving her sporting future open and is focusing for the time being on next week's surgery and subsequent rehabilitation.
