Turin, Dec. 2 (LaPresse) – Simona Quadarella won silver in the 400 freestyle at the European Short Course Swimming Championships, which began today in Lublin, Poland, earning Italy its first medal. The Italian swimmer finished in 3:56.70, a new Italian record. Gold went to Germany’s Isabel Gose in 3:54.33, a new European record, while bronze was claimed by Britain’s Freya Colbert in 3:56.71. The other Italian in the final, Anna Chiara Mascolo, finished seventh (4:04.13).
