At the “Maradona” stadium, Antonio Conte's team beat Cagliari on penalties after the match ended 1-1 after 90 minutes. Napoli took the lead through Lucca in the 28th minute, with Sebastiano Esposito equalising in the 67th minute. Luvumbo's miss, the tenth in the series, proved decisive in the penalty shootout, following misses by Felici and Neres. Napoli will face the winner of the match between Fiorentina and Como, scheduled for 27 January, in the quarter-finals.
