Serie A, Chivu: “I enjoy a fantastic Inter, me against Fabregas only for the papers”

Rome, Dec. 6 (LaPresse) – “I enjoy a fantastic group, this team and this club. I have been part of this team for many years. I try to give my best with passion and enthusiasm and I try to pass this on to my players, who know very well what it means to be part of a club like this,” says Inter coach Cristian Chivu after the San Siro match in which the Nerazzurri defeated Como 4-0 and reclaimed the top spot in the Serie A standings. For many, it was also seen as a personal victory because Cesc Fabregas was on the opposing team, rumored to have been Inter’s first choice before he declined and the club turned to the Romanian coach this summer: “Those are headlines for the newspapers, I don’t care. What matters to me is the team, the performance, what they put on the pitch, the daily work, what we need to improve. The rest are newspaper headlines that suit those who talk about football, and that’s fine because I understand everything,” Chivu added.
