Rome, Jan. 3 (LaPresse) – Switzerland made the best possible start to its 2026 United Cup campaign. The Swiss beat France in the first group match for Italy at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. In the women’s singles, Belinda Bencic defeated Leolia Jeanjean 6–2 6–4. Then Stan Wawrinka got the better of Arthur Rinderknech 5–7 7–6(5) 7–6(5). On Sunday at 10 a.m. Italy will face Switzerland.
