The Italian player won her first round match, defeating Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich in two sets, 6-1, 6-2. The number 7 in the WTA rankings will play either Slovenian Veronika Erjavec (102 WTA) or Polish Magdalena Frech (57) in the next round.
