NBA, Golden State Warriors: Butler suffers torn ligaments in right knee

Milan, Jan. 20 (LaPresse) – Bad news for the Golden State Warriors, who will lose Jimmy Butler for the rest of the season. The guard injured his right knee at 7:41 of the third quarter against his former team, Miami. According to ESPN, a first MRI reportedly showed a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Butler was injured after receiving a pass in the paint and fell violently and awkwardly following a collision with the Heat’s Davion Mitchell. Butler grimaced and grabbed his knee while remaining on the floor for a couple of minutes. He needed teammates Gary Payton II and Buddy Hield to help him off the court and to the locker room.
