Rome, 22 January (LaPresse) – Lazio fans continue to protest against the club. In a post published on La Voce della Nord's Instagram profile and signed by organised fan groups, non-season ticket holders are urged not to buy tickets for the Lazio-Genoa match. We are evaluating how to continue the protest depending on how the transfer market evolves at Lazio. We believe that the situation is increasingly compromised by total mismanagement." The reaction from the club led by Claudio Lotito was harsh, with a statement ‘condemning in the strongest terms the message released in recent hours by individuals linked to so-called organised supporters, calling on Lazio fans not to buy tickets for the Lazio-Genoa match, linking this behaviour to assessments and demands related to the club's corporate and sporting decisions’. For Lazio, "this is a serious and unacceptable act, which goes beyond any form of legitimate dissent and takes on the contours of a real attempt at organised pressure and conditioning against the club, the team and the entire Lazio environment. Lazio reiterates with absolute clarity that behind every account, even when hidden behind anonymity, there are names, surnames and personal responsibilities that can be fully identified. For these reasons, the club has already reported and denounced such conduct to the competent authorities, so that it can be assessed from every legal perspective. The dissemination of calls for a boycott aimed at deliberately affecting access to the stadium and the behaviour of the public constitutes direct, conscious and intentional economic damage. This damage is all the more serious as it is directed at a listed company, with potential repercussions on its image, revenues, commercial relations and market confidence. S.S. Lazio cannot and will not tolerate actions that, by exploiting the passion of fans, aim to influence the entire sporting and social context, causing concrete damage to the Club and to all those who support it in a fair, free and responsible manner. At the same time, the Club reiterates that its work on the transfer market continues with serenity, method and full internal agreement. Sporting decisions are made according to a clear vision and a defined strategy, respecting the roles, timing and overall balance of the technical project, without being influenced by external pressures or exploitation. Going to the stadium is a joy and must always remain a joy. Supporting your favourite team means participating, supporting, suffering and rejoicing together: this is sport, this is the value that Lazio has always conveyed to its people. Instilling fear, discouraging participation or inviting people not to go to the stadium, today for the transfer market, yesterday for other manipulations, tomorrow for new pretexts, is not love for Lazio, it is not sport. It is an attempt to influence the environment for interests unrelated to the good of the Club. Lazio-Genoa will be a celebration of sport, passion and belonging, despite some people, for reasons completely unrelated to the sporting spirit, believing that it should not be. Lazio belongs to its authentic supporters, its history and its values. Not to those who try to turn support into a means of pressure. The club will continue to move forward in compliance with the rules, the law and its own dignity, protecting its rights and those of all Biancocelesti supporters in every forum."
