Turin, 25 January (LaPresse) – Nadia Battocletti triumphs again, celebrating her second consecutive victory at Campaccio. The Italian champion's year begins with a new success in San Giorgio su Legnano (Milan) in the 69th edition of the great international cross-country classic. It is the best way to start again in a discipline she loves, and once again it all seems easy with a final time of 21'10 after 6 kilometres, despite a fall shortly before the halfway point. Her rivals were far behind her: Francine Niyomukunzi of Burundi, who had beaten her two years ago, finished 22 seconds behind with a time of 21'32, ahead of Elvanie Nimbona (Caivano Runners), who became an Italian citizen just over a month ago and finished third in 21'33. For the thirty-year-old from Fiamme Azzurre, it was also an opportunity to secure first place in the World Athletics Cross Country Tour rankings, already won last year, with her second Gold stage victory of the season after the one in November in Atapuerca, Spain.
