In the Italian derby against Luciano Darderi (No. 25, but seeded No. 22 in the tournament), the No. 2 in the rankings won in three sets with a score of 6-1, 6-3, 7-6 (2) in two hours and 11 minutes. Sinner will face the winner of the match between American Ben Shelton and Norwegian Casper Ruud.
