Milan, Feb. 5 (LaPresse) – Italy’s adventure in the women’s hockey tournament at the Milan-Cortina Olympics started off in a big way. In the opening game at the Ice Hockey Arena in Milan Santagiulia, the Italian team decisively defeated France 4-1. It is the historic first victory for the Italian women’s hockey national team at the Olympics; in their only previous participation in Turin 2006, they had no wins. Italy’s goals were scored by Tutino at the 10th minute, Roccella at the 35th, Fantin at the 40th, and Della Rovere at the 44th. France’s initial goal by de Serres was not enough.
