(LaPresse) – Italy made a positive start to the Six Nations, beating Scotland 18-15 at the end of a real battle on the pitch of the Olimpico stadium, which was hit by incessant rain. The victory came after a first half that ended with a score of 15-7 for the Azzurri, thanks to tries from Lynagh and Menoncello and conversions from Garbisi. In the second half, the Scots attempted a comeback, bringing the score to 18-15, but Italy defended well and held on. A decisive scrum, dominant from start to finish, saw right prop Simone Ferrari named player of the match.
