Cortina, February 12 (LaPresse) – Another gold medal for Italy at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics: it was won by a stratospheric Federica Brignone in the women's super-G race. In front of President Mattarella, the Italian, who recently returned to competition after a long injury, left France's Romane Miradoli and Austria's Cornelia Huetter behind her. Laura Pirovano finished fifth, ahead of Elena Curtoni. There was great disappointment, however, for Sofia Goggia, who dropped out halfway through the race when she was well in the lead. “It's something incredible,” commented the La Salle tiger, “I didn't think I could win gold, I never expected it, never in my life, it's really something special,” said the Italian champion.
