These are the words of IOC President Kirsty Coventry after Vladyslav Heraskevych was disqualified from the men's skeleton competition at the Milan Cortina Games for refusing to compete with a suit other than the commemorative one remembering Ukrainian athletes who died in the war with Russia. “This is not about messages, it's about rules and regulations,” she continued. “In this case, during the competition, we must be able to maintain a safe environment for everyone. And unfortunately, that means messages are not allowed.”
