Milan, Feb. 22 (LaPresse) – After 24 matches unbeaten, AC Milan were stunned 1-0 by Parma Calcio 1913 in the late match of the 26th round of Serie A, likely ending their Scudetto hopes against Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri, coached by Cristian Chivu, now hold a 10-point lead over the Rossoneri. Three crucial points in the relegation battle went to Parma, who conquered San Siro Stadium thanks to a highly contested late goal by Troilo, a goal confirmed after a long VAR review. The first half was generally tight, with Milan pushing more decisively while Parma defended in an organised way while also attempting counterattacks. In the second half, the Rossoneri were unlucky when Rafael Leão hit the post with a spectacular volley from the edge of the box. In the closing stages, Parma surprisingly found the winner through a header by Troilo from a corner kick. The referee, Michael Piccinini, initially disallowed the goal for a foul on Mike Maignan in the scramble but later validated it after VAR review. Inter benefit, with the Scudetto race getting closer to a conclusion.
