Milan, 2 March (LaPresse) – Luciano Darderi wins his fifth career title, all on clay, in Santiago, Chile. Ranked No. 21 in the world, he defeated Germany's Yannick Hanfmann, No. 81 but with a best ranking of No. 45, 7-6(6), 7-5 in the final to become the player with the most ATP trophies on clay since the start of 2024, one more than Carlos Alcaraz. Darderi's success, second in terms of matches won since the start of 2024 (48, one less than Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo), comes less than 24 hours after Flavio Cobolli's triumph in Acapulco. It is the fifth time in the Open Era that two Italians have celebrated two ATP titles in the same week.
