Turin, 3 March (LaPresse) – The main draw has been drawn for the BNP Paribas Open, the third WTA 1000 event of the season (combined with the first ATP Masters 1000 of 2026) with a prize fund of $9,415,725, which takes place on hard courts at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California. Pending the conclusion of the qualifiers, there is only one Italian player in the singles main draw, Jasmine Paolini. In her five previous appearances at the Californian “1000”, the Tuscan has never gone beyond the round of 16, which she reached on two occasions: in 2024, she lost in three sets to Anastasia Potapova, while in 2025, she lost decisively to Liudmila Samsonova. Seeded number 7, Paolini will enter the competition directly in the second round, against Austria's Anastasia Potapova or a qualifier. The first seeded player she could face is number 30, China's Xinyu Wang. The Tuscan is in the top half of the draw, on the side of world number 1 Aryna Sabalenka, in the quarter of Ekaterina Alexandrova, in the quarter of Coco Gauff.
