Milan, 14 March (LaPresse) – Austria’s Julia Scheib has won the giant slalom in Åre, Sweden, and also claimed the discipline’s World Cup title. With a time of 2’22”41, Scheib finished ahead of America’s Paula Moltzan by +0.36 and New Zealand’s Alice Robinson by +0.75. Switzerland’s Camille Rast, who led after the first run, failed to finish the second. Worth noting is the fifth-place finish of a resurgent Mikaela Shiffrin, 2.22 seconds behind. As for Italy, Asja Zenere finished tenth, 2.78 seconds behind, whilst Sofia Goggia failed to finish the second run.
