Monterrey (Mexico), 1 April (LaPresse/AP) – Iraq have secured the 48th and final place available for the World Cup thanks to a 2-1 victory over Bolivia in the intercontinental play-off. Ali Almahadi opened the scoring in the 18th minute, Moises Paniagua equalised for Bolivia in the 38th minute and Aymen Hussein scored the decisive goal in the 53rd minute for Iraq. The Iraqi national team will join Group I alongside France, Norway and Senegal. Iraq, managed by Australian Graham Arnold, will return to the World Cup for the first time since Mexico 1986.
