A heavy defeat for the Los Angeles Lakers, who lost 139–96 away to the Oklahoma City Thunder, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 28 points. Concerns are mounting for the Lakers following star player Luka Doncic’s left hamstring injury, sustained during the third quarter. Coach JJ Redick has announced that the Slovenian NBA top scorer will undergo an MRI scan today. In other matches, the San Antonio Spurs secured a 118-99 away win against the Los Angeles Clippers thanks to 20 points from Stephon Castle and 22 from De’Aaron Fox. Kawhi Leonard’s 24 points proved in vain for the home side. The Golden State Warriors also suffered a 111-118 defeat against the Cleveland Cavaliers, with Donovan Mitchell shining with 25 points. Furthermore, Jrue Holiday scored 27 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 118-106 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. There were also high-scoring wins for the Charlotte Hornets and the Detroit Pistons, who beat the Phoenix Suns 112-107 and the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-108 respectively.
