Milan, April 6 (LaPresse) – Minimal changes for Italian players in the WTA world rankings released this morning after the conclusion of the Charleston “500” in South Carolina and the Bogotá “250” in Colombia. Two Italians remain in the top 100. Leading the Italians is Jasmine Paolini: the 29-year-old from Bagni di Lucca remains in 8th place. Behind her, Elisabetta Cocciaretto – who nearly defeated Pegula in the Charleston round of 16 – moves up to No. 42. The queen of the rankings is still Aryna Sabalenka, holding the No. 1 spot for the 77th consecutive week (85th overall) in an unchanged Top Ten. The Belarusian maintains a 2,917-point lead over Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, Australian Open champion. American Coco Gauff, 22, from Delray Beach, is also on the podium, just 15 points ahead of Iga Swiatek.
