Serie A, Juventus 2–0 Bologna

Milan, 19 Apr. (LaPresse) – Juventus put in an excellent display in the run-up to the Champions League, beating Bologna 2-0 on matchday 33 of Serie A. It took the Bianconeri just 90 seconds to take the lead through Jonathan David, who headed home from Kalulu’s cross. Spalletti’s men continued to press forward at a high tempo and doubled their lead a few minutes later through Francisco Conceiçao, who had, however, started his run a fraction of a second too early, meaning the goal was ruled out for offside. Bologna failed to respond and Juve came close to making it 2-0, first through Conceiçao again, then with Holm hitting the crossbar and, towards the end of the first half, with David. In the second half, Italiano’s side started with more conviction, coming close to an equaliser after two minutes through Orsolini. But in the 57th minute, Juventus finally found the net to make it 2-0, again with a header, this time from Khephren Thuram following an assist from McKennie. In the 62nd minute, Rowe hit the post from close range, but it was the Rossoblù’s only chance to get back into the game. Thanks to this victory, Juventus consolidated their fourth-place position, climbing to 63 points and moving five points clear of Como and Roma. Bologna, meanwhile, remain in eighth place on 48 points, with any hopes of qualifying for a European competition likely to have vanished.
