Milan, 21 Apr. (LaPresse) – ‘I lost one final on penalties, then I lost another in England on the seventh penalty. First and foremost, I’d like to get through and play in another one.’ So said Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri speaking at a press conference ahead of the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Atalanta. Lazio are coming off the back of a convincing performance against Napoli, an important victory. "They’re always important; this team went 13–14 months without two consecutive wins. Lately, Lazio have been producing results with more consistency; the lack of consistency has always been a flaw we’re trying to iron out. The break has disrupted our positive momentum a little; we’re trying to work on it but I don’t know if we’ve resolved this issue,” added the Biancocelesti manager. The Coppa Italia could make this a ‘year one’ rather than a ‘year zero’. “I have to do my job as a manager and make assessments. This competition spans five matches; it can’t be seen as indicative of the season. Atalanta have characteristics that can sometimes resemble those of Napoli; there are similarities, but the individual qualities are different,” explained Sarri when speaking about the opponents. For the Biancocelesti manager, however, this will not be a ‘save-the-season’ match. “There isn’t one match that saves the season; such definitions only exist from a media perspective.”
