NBA: Philadelphia knock Boston out and reach the play-off semi-finals

Rome, 3 May (LaPresse) – For the first time since 1982, the Philadelphia 76ers have won a play-off series against the Boston Celtics, completing their comeback from 1-3 down with a victory in Game 7 at the TD Garden. The Sixers led for most of the match, holding off every attempt at a comeback by the Celtics, who were without Jayson Tatum due to a knee injury. Double-doubles from Tyrese Maxey (30 points and 11 rebounds) and Joel Embiid (34 points and 12 rebounds) led the visitors, alongside 23 points from rookie VJ Edgecombe, whilst Jaylen Brown’s 33 points were not enough for the Celtics to avoid a bitter elimination.
