Italian Open, Sinner reaches third round: Ofner beaten in straight sets

Rome, May 9 (LaPresse) – Jannik Sinner advanced to the third round of the Italian Open. In his opening match, he defeated Austria’s Sebastian Ofner in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, in one hour and 31 minutes. With this victory, Sinner extended his winning streak in Masters events to 29 matches, the 24th win of his season. In the next round, he will face either Czech player Mensik or Australia’s Poporyn.
