Milan, 11 May (LaPresse) – Barcelona beat Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clásico on matchday 35 of La Liga, thereby securing the Spanish title. The victory was sealed by goals from Rashford in the 9th minute and Ferran Torres in the 18th. This is the Blaugrana’s 29th Spanish title, and Hansi Flick’s second in a row following last season’s success. The last two consecutive league titles won by Barcelona date back to the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons, when Lionel Messi was still in the squad. It is an even more emotional triumph for Flick, who lost his father just this morning. There is no respite, however, for Álvaro Arbeloa and his Real Madrid side, who once again this season put in a lacklustre and unconvincing performance. Los Blancos looked completely helpless against their opponents’ ferocity, who took control of the match from the outset, and thus remain in second place on 77 points. A full 14 points behind their historic rivals.
