Rome, 13 May (LaPresse) – “I am never shocked by appeals because they are part of democratic life. Everyone has the right to seek protection of their rights before the judicial authorities. The decision taken by the public security authorities was, to me, actually quite predictable in its reasonableness. I’m sorry because it was something that could have been considered earlier, as it’s not as though we don’t know that the Italian Open takes place annually at a specific time of year and that it’s also linked to a very important event that needs to be protected in some way. I believe that, in the end, a way will be found to ensure that both events can be enjoyed to the full by the public, as is only right and proper.” So said Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi on the sidelines of the 13th edition of ‘Legalità, ci piace!’ at the Confcommercio headquarters in Rome, regarding the decision to move the Roma-Lazio derby to Monday and referring to the Serie A League’s intention to appeal to the Regional Administrative Court against the decision by the Committee for Public Order and Safety to move the Roma-Lazio derby from Sunday at 12.30 pm to Monday 18 May at 8.45 pm.
