A goal scored by Stulic in the 96th minute allowed Lecce to secure a 3-2 away win at Sassuolo and maintain a one-point lead over Cremonese, who sit third from bottom in the table, ahead of the final matchday of the season, when the Salento side will host Genoa. The Apulians had taken the lead twice through Cheddira in the 14th and 35th minutes, but on both occasions they were pegged back by goals from Lauriente in the 20th minute and Pinamonti in the 82nd. Cremonese kept their hopes of survival alive with a 1-0 away win over Udinese. Vardy’s goal in the 9th minute proved decisive. The Grigiorossi remain third from bottom in the table, one point behind Lecce, and will face Como on the final matchday.
