On the final day of the season, the Salento side secured three crucial points against Genoa (1-0) and sealed their place in the top flight, whilst Giampaolo’s side suffered a heavy home defeat against Como (1-4) and were relegated to Serie B at the end of a bitterly disappointing evening.
